A Novel Spatial–Temporal Specification-Based Monitoring System for Smart Cities

With the development of Internet Things, millions sensors are being deployed in cities to collect real-time data. This leads a need for checking city states against requirements at runtime. In this article, we develop novel spatial-temporal specification-based monitoring system smart cities. We first describe study over 1000 requirements, some which cannot be specified using existing logic, such as signal temporal logic (STL) and its variants. To tackle limitation, spatial aggregation STL (SaSTL)-a STL-for efficient runtime safety performance two new logical operators SaSTL augment expressing counting characteristics that commonly found real requirements. define Boolean quantitative semantics support analysis across different periods locations. also algorithms can check requirement parallel multiple data streams (e.g., generated by distributed spatially city).
